Wellbeing Support Resources for NHS Staff
As we are still in one of the busiest seasons of the year for the NHS, we want to bring light to the vast amount of free wellbeing support available for all NHS staff that you may not have been informed about. If you are someone who works within the healthcare system, please take a look at the list of various resources set up for you to help improve your wellbeing.
In-person
If you require in-person support, please visit your local mental health and wellbeing hub for rapid access to a clinical assessment followed by the necessary support you need. These hubs are open to all health and social care staff from all services and settings and you can self-refer or even refer a colleague, if you have their consent. All hubs are confidential and separate from the organisation that you work for. Click here to get more information and find a local hub near you.
Online
If you prefer to get online support, you can go on the NHS Learning Hub to get access to short courses and videos. These include courses on learning about the #10minPauseSpace, 5-min Me Space, managing your energy in the workplace. These courses include reading short bits of information, watching videos and even doing some activities to help improve your wellbeing. If any of these sound of interest to you, have a look at the website here to enrol yourself onto any of the courses.
Apps
You can also download various applications on your mobile device or tablet. Click here to view the features of each application and then decide which one would best suit your needs and preferences. If you sign up with your NHS staff email you can get access to all the benefits and features of the app for free.
Telephone Call
If you would like to talk to someone on the phone, there has been a free confidential staff support line set up, which is operated by the Samaritans. Please call 0800 069 6222 to speak to an advisor, this line is open from 7am till 11pm. Click here for more information.
Text
Alternatively, if you would prefer to get support through messaging someone instead of talking on the phone, you can text FRONTLINE to 85258 for free 24/7 support from trained advisors.
There are also many other forms of support set up for NHS staff, such as financial support, support for diverse colleagues, physical health and wellbeing, support for people working in social care and many more. Click here to scroll through the many different options to see if any could be of use to you.
It is important to take advantage of these free courses as they could be of great benefit to you in terms of either improving your mental and physical wellbeing, changing your mindset, helping to destress or even all of these put together. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication during this extremely busy period as well as all year round. #ThankYouNHS
