2023 RCOT Annual Awards for Learning, Development and Research: how to get involved

If you currently work in occupational therapy you could be eligible to apply for a 2023 RCOT Annual Award. 

 

There is over £18,000 worth of funding to be awarded, so it’s definitely worth applying (and you can apply for more than one award!). The money can go towards anything from supporting research projects, to making that international placement dream into a reality. 

 

Across the 14 awards there is something for everyone, regardless of what stage of your career you may be. Find the full list of awards below to find out which you could be eligible for. 

 

AMPS-ESI UK & Ireland Award 

Funding – £1,000

Eligibility – Professional and student members. 

 

Constance Owens Liverpool Award for Service Development 

Funding – £1,000 each (two awards) 

Eligibility – Service developers 

 

Innovation Award 

Funding – £2,000

Eligibility – Open to all members

 

Institute of Social Psychiatry Award 

Funding – £2,000

Eligibility – Postgraduate researcher 

 

The Barbara Tyldesley Student Award  

Funding – £500 each (two awards) 

Eligibility – UK pre-registration student or learner member

 

RCOT Student Award for Entrepreneurship and Leadership 

Funding – £500 each (two awards)

Eligibility – Pre-registration student or learner entrepreneurial 

 

Pearson Award 

Funding – £750

Eligibility – Individual occupational therapist or student/learner member 

 

The Constance Owens Early Researcher Award – £5,000 

Funding – £5,000

Eligibility – Individual professional member 

 

International Activity Award 

Funding – £750 each 

Eligibility – Individual member actively participating in overseas activity 

 

The RCOT Equity, Diversity and Belonging (EDB) Award: Racially Minoritised Groups

This is an award new to the RCOT Annual Awards designed to help create equal opportunities for an identified group of people or community. The prize money will fund a project focused on removing barriers to entry when it comes to occupational therapy services. 

 

Funding – up to £1,250

Eligibility – All BAOT members

 

How do I apply? 

 

To apply for one of the RCOT Annual Awards, you need to be a registered British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT) member. When filling out the application form you must apply individually, using your own words. Even if you are applying for funding as a group this rule applies. 

 

Send your application off before the deadline on Monday 31 October 2022 11.55PM to be considered. Winners are due to be announced in January 2023.
